I was born and raised in the beautiful New England state of Connecticut in a town even smaller than Newville. I am blessed to have a close family including two very supportive parents, a younger brother (and sister-in-law) and older sister (and brother-in-law). Through high school, I was always very involved in my community and church, and greatly appreciated the small-town feel that I now continue to experience here in Newville, PA! I came to PA in 2013 to study Music Education at Messiah College (University). After graduation, I moved back to CT to be with my family and substitute teach for a year before returning to PA in the fall of 2018.
I have had a variety of leadership/service positions, especially in the Church (worship leader, VBS music director, youth group leader, etc.). Though I am switching gears and going from music education to special education, I am a worship leader at Diller Church and have a couple piano students. I am also a youth leader/Sunday school teacher at Diller Church and, more recently, a pastor’s wife! I currently work at Mt. Rock Elementary as a year-long substitute special education teacher and working to finish my Master's degree at Wilson College in Special Education. In my spare time, I love being outside, learning new things, crocheting, cleaning, and making music with others.
The Launch Pad mission aligns with some of my deepest passions of community and family. I have been extremely blessed to grow up in an incredible and supportive family. We are all designed to function best within family, however, there is a lot of brokenness in families. As a member of the Launch Pad, my desire is to serve and walk alongside others to become a healthy family, which will then disciple young men to establish a strong sense of family of their own when they launch out into adulthood.
You may know me from Big Spring School District. I worked at the middle school for a year, and now I am going on my second year working at Mt. Rock! Go Bulldogs! I also serve at Neighbors in Christ. You probably also know me from my husband, who works as the pastor at Diller Church and the best part-time male cashier at Saylor’s Market, where he is well known for his outgoing personality and cheesy jokes.
